Jaws 50th Anniversary Merch from Mondo

JAWS—the movie that imbued in me an irrational fear of the deep blue sea—is 50 years old this year. Mondo is celebrating with a bunch of collectibles, all designed to remind you of the tenacious Bruce and why you need a bigger boat when dealing with an unknown killer lurking beneath the waves.

There are two vinyl collections to choose from, a poster (that also reminds you that you need a bigger boat), and a super cool vinyl figure of the Great White—with a couple of floater barrels in tow—busting through a shark cage.

Save for the JAWS – Original Motion Picture Score – 50th Anniversary Edition 2XLP featuring music by John Williams, which is a Mondo exclusive, the rest of the merch—including the JAWS – Selections & Studio Rarities EP (also by John Williams), the Jaws (Timed Edition) Poster featuring artwork by Danny Haas, and the JAWS – Vinyl Designer Figure by James Groman (Timed Edition)—are Timed Editions.

The vinyl figure is available as we speak for US$275, while the EP, 2XLP, and poster are available for pre-order for US$35, US$60, and US$80, respectively. If you’re a super fan of the franchise, these are must-haves.

Fun fact: Bruce is not the onscreen name for the Great White. It is a nickname given by the production crew—after director Steven Spielberg’s lawyer, Bruce Ramer. It was the name of the mechanical shark used in the filming, but it was never referred to in the movie.
