unlike the usual measuring tape that has graduations on the tape, the Reading Ruler doesn’t have them. designed by Ho Sung-Woon & Woo Moo-Bum, the Reading Ruler gives you the measurement in different units of measurement via a display on the tape measure itself.
you can even see the result in the dark. though i can’t phantom why we ever need to measure anything in the dark. maybe not in pitch dark condition but i will say, more likely for low light condition where you weren’t able to read off from a conventional tape measure clearly. strangely, we already have laser-aided measurement device to measure quite accurately for a variety of distances and this concept seems rather redundant. but the device itself is nice looking though.
WiFi and sharing are not limited to just electronic gadgets and social network sites. they have come to bathroom scale in the form of WiFi Bathroom Scales. what an apt name that tells what it does, isn’t it? this isn’t your average bathroom scale. this tempered-glass and aluminum bathroom scale is a digital scale that comes with back-lit digital display screen.
and it don’t just stop there. the scale automatically records your weight, fat mass and BMI (Body Mass Index) each time you weigh yourself. the scale then uses WiFi to send these informations to your computer or iPhone. alas, weighing has become much more complicated now that you can track the above mentioned results on a password protected website or from the free iPhone app. remember the sharing part? yea, you can even sync your results with Google Health or share them via email, Twitter or Facebook. that’s if you’re really proud of your stats. i probably won’t want to share my stats. i am too ashamed to do so.
though, i still can’t comprehend why should i be sharing my stats. nevertheless, welcome to the future of weighing. WiFi Bathroom Scales truly lets you see weighing in a different light. if you’re already stocked with the latest, technologically advanced gadgets and thinking about what’s next on the list. this could be it.
typical faucet, no matter how nice the designs are, still looks the pretty much the same. even though there are probably some square or flat items around, round and tubular constructions are still the norm. so how do you like an angular faucet that was inspired by the Stealth aircraft? yea, just imagine how the Stealth aircraft looks like and carry it over to a faucet.
well, you get an all angular faucet just like the Stealth aircraft less the stealth capability, though. we still need to see where are faucets are, don’t we? instead of the menacing matt-black radar-absorbing coating, the Stealth faucet comes in two alluring finishes: polished chrome or Steelnox satin nickel.
this awesome faucet is, not surprisingly, from award winning manufacturer GRAFF which has supplied its faucets and shower collections to many luxurious hotels and homes around the world.
one question remains: do they have a bathtub shaped like the real Stealth aircraft? or maybe the Stealth aircraft-shaped basin? cos’ I really like the complete look of stealth in my bath.
seriously, i didn’t think i would be writing about bottles. but it’s hard to give Alex Water Bottle a miss. Alex isn’t your ordinary bottle-next-door. its body can be separated (in the middle) to allow thorough cleaning of the bottle’s interior, ensuring every bit of grimes and bacterias be rid off. yea. that’s right. those who actually clean their bottles would understand how important this feature is.
another highlight of Alex is how its able to customize to your different need. need a bigger bottle? just swap out the bottom for a longer one and you have a bigger bottle. purchase a few Alex in different colors (currently, three colors are available) and you can even mix match Alex’s bodily parts to customize to your mood. white cap, stainless upper body and black lower body with pink band? done. grey cap, white upper body and black lower half with yellow band? done!
a little more about Alex. Alex is generally made of BPA free premium 304 stainless steel and coated with eco-friendly power paint (except for the Naked series – which is naked, of course. now guys, don’t get all too excited…). Alex comes equipped with Clean Seam Technology (CST) for sealing the water in. both caps and CST are of BPA free polypropylene and the strap are made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles.
you know what? life just gets a little brighter with Alex and starting from $25.95 a pop, it doesn’t sound a bit ridiculous to have a piece of Alex. i am totally sold by the idea of breaking Alex up to clean its interior. at this point if you are still confused… Alex is a water bottle not a person. i just thought you should know.
footnote: ALEX is an acronym for “Always Live Extraordinarily”
this is a very interesting product. it is a cross between a conventional optical peephole and a wall/ceiling mounted security cam. the PeepHole Viewer replaces the traditional optical peephole and let’s you view who’s knocking via the 2.5″ TFT-LCD. the PeepHole Viewer is a direct replacement for the traditional optical item. image is captured through a 1.3 Megapixel CMOS camera, project to the 2.5″ TFT-LCD with a viewing angle of 96DEG or 99DEG, depending on the model. power comes from 2x AA batteries which means it is totally cable-free. Brinno don’t need to sell me the PeepHole Viewer’s benefits, just the concept alone has won me over – except that i don’t have a Peephole to start with. but it certainly makes sense to use such device, as oppose to sticking your face to the door just to get a glimpse of who’s knocking on the door. that’s what i call home improvement.
