US-based premium audio brand Cavalier Audio has a cool-looking wireless speaker that has both Bluetooth and WiFi streaming capability, and Amazon Alexa Voice Control. The device is worthy of mention just because of the styling, but it is also worthy due to the fact that not many premium brands have hop onto the Alexa bandwagon, let alone any voice assistant. So, here it is, the Maverick, portable Bluetooth and WiFi speaker system with Alexa Voice Control.
The Maverick is equipped with far-field technology which means, you do not need to right next to it to use Alexa, but just how far a distance it supports, it is not known. It features WiFi for Alexa support as well as steaming with voice control for a host of music streaming services, including Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Amazon Prime Music – just to name a few. And then, there is, of course, Bluetooth technology for wireless streaming for times when WiFi isn’t present. And should, after all, it is a portable Bluetooth speaker.
Audio reproduction is afford through a 20-watt stereo speaker setup, comprising of two active drivers and two passive radiators. Other notables include speakerphone functionality with built-in noise cancellation, Spotify Connect integration, analog volume control knob, multi-room audio support (because, why not?), app set and control, programmable capacitive touch smart button, a built-in rechargeable battery good for up to 9 hours of playtime, and last but not the least, it has a privacy mode with dedicated mic mute and there is an LED to indicate so.
As for Alexa, you already know the drill; you can ask Alexa to control the music. It cannot, however, do what Echo devices do, like offering news and weather. Just thought you should know.
