We have no intention to bombard you with yet another eBike, but this is too intriguing to give it pass. What you are looking here is an Aston Martin DB4-inspired eBike from premium French eBike maker Coleen.
If you were at the CES earlier this year, you might have spotted Coleen there. Anywho, the Coleen x Aston Marin Electric Bicycle is, not surprisingly, limited to cosmetic. It is basically a Coleen eBike in a special paint job inspired by the classic green hue as found on the iconic Aston Martin DB4.
Beyond that, you get the Coleen’s unique retro-ish bike frame (carbon frame and fork, we heard), along with a 250W rear hub motor with 50 Nm peak torque, a 48V 429 Wh removable battery system integrated into the frame.
Befitting a premium eBike, it, of course, boasts regenerative braking.
Other details include greaseless traction progressive hydraulic brake system, belt drive, 650b wheels paired to Schwalbe 2-inch wide tires, and a beautifully integrated 3.2-inch digital display with Bluetooth connectivity.
It works with an app that lets you make calls, texts, find your bike, view ride history and also pushes anti-theft alert to you. The latter is made possible with the anti-theft alert system on the 3.2-inch unit.
Coleen eBike has a top of up to 45 km/h (29 mph), average 90 km (59 miles) range, 4 level of assistance and auto lights. We can’t find more details on the Aston Martin DB4 model, but rest assure it is going to cost you, like a lot.
The “ordinary” Coleen eBikes commands a hefty start price of, wait for it… €5,990 (or about US$6,36). Holy smoke! That’s a lot to pay for an electric bicycle of any kind, don’t you think? Though, you can’t deny it is gorgeous.
