Coyote vs. ACME Official Trailer
The long-delayed Coyote vs. ACME trailer has finally arrived, revealing Wile E. Coyote suing ACME in a live-action hybrid comedy that survived one of Hollywood’s most unusual cancellation scares.

There are trailers that introduce a movie. And then there is the Coyote vs. ACME trailer, which introduces a movie that also subtly reminds everyone that this film technically survived a near-extinction event.

Yes, that Wile E. Coyote. And yes, he is finally suing ACME. About time, frankly.

The trailer sets the tone immediately: courtroom drama meets Looney Tunes chaos, with Coyote teaming up with a struggling lawyer (played by Will Forte) to take on the corporation responsible for decades of exploding rocket skates, collapsing bridges, and suspiciously unreliable giant magnets. Naturally, ACME’s defense lawyer is played by John Cena, which feels like exactly the kind of casting choice this premise deserves.

Stylistically, the film looks like a throwback to the golden era of live-action/animation hybrids—think Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but with significantly more legal paperwork and desert-grade emotional damage.

Now, about that controversy.

Back in 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery decided not to release the completed movie at all and instead planned to use it as a tax write-off, reportedly worth about US$30 million. The move triggered backlash from filmmakers, fans, and just about anyone who prefers movies to exist after they are finished. Eventually, the studio allowed the project to be sold elsewhere, and Ketchup Entertainment picked it up for release.

Which makes the trailer feel slightly meta. Watching Wile E. Coyote sue ACME for defective products hits differently when the movie itself had to survive corporate mishaps of its own.

Either way, the result looks fast, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt. And if nothing else, it is reassuring to know that after decades of falling off cliffs, someone finally handed the Coyote a lawyer. Coyote vs. ACME will hit the theaters on August 28, 2026.
