What you see here is DJI’s newest FPV system and it is probably as futuristic in features as its aesthetics. For the benefit of the uninitiated, FPV is, of course, for first person view. Simply referred to as DJI Digital FPV Transmission System, it comes with a FPV goggles that straight out of sci-fi movies – especially with the multiple antenna sticking out at an angle at the front, and a receiver/camera unit.
The antenna array, dubbed multi-antenna technology, is not for the grudge futuristic look; they are omnidirectional and they are there to enable stable video transmission. Here’s how:
“The DJI FPV Goggles has four omnidirectional antennas that support left-hand circular polarization, strengthening signal receiving and communication between DJI FPV Goggles, RC, and Air Unit.”
In addition, the DJI Digital FPV Transmission System also touts two screens, plus a pair of user-friendly channel adjustment buttons that offers pilots and spectators the ability to change frequency channels faster.
Other highlights include 1080p/60fps aerial recording, 8 frequency channels for up to 8 drones to fly at the same time – with channel exclusivity for each operator, 150-degree ultra-wide angle lens FPV camera with three user selectable camera modes, and an embedded remote controller receiver to wirelessly connect DJI FPV Air Unit to the DJI FPV Remote Controller without the need for additional receiver.
Speaking of the DJI FPV Remote Controller, it features an uncluttered, sleek and ergonomic design, adjustable control sticks, 7ms low latency between Air Unit and RC unit, up to 4 km range, and closed-loop software for remotely setting parameters for the FPV goggle, the Air Unit and the FPV camera.
DJI Digital FPV Transmission System is available in two package: The DJI FPV Experience Combo and DJI FPV Fly More Combo. Two combos are nearly identical, but the DJI FPV Fly More Combo comes with an additional Air Unit with camera and its associated accessories, plus it comes with a DJI FPV Remote Controller.
DJI FPV Remote Controller is available to order as we speak, priced at discounted $879 (UP: $943) and $999 (UP: $1,073) for the DJI FPV Experience Combo and DJI FPV Fly More Combo, respectively.
