The new DJI Osmo Mobile 8 [CH] continues the brand’s obsession with stabilization—this time making handheld shooting so steady it could pass for tripod work. It’s lighter, smarter, and packed with features that make even your “just woke up” vlog footage look intentional.
This latest model features DJI’s signature three-axis stabilization system, now refined to handle more motion without complaint. It supports direct phone connection and introduces a new multi-function tracking module capable of locking onto people, pets, and even chaos. Whether you’re filming your kid’s soccer game or your cat ignoring you, it keeps the subject center-frame with alarming precision.
The Osmo Mobile 8 also adds 360° horizontal rotation for smooth panoramic motion and low-angle tracking shots. A new extended arm design allows it to get close to the ground without you pretending to be a yoga master. With its built-in tripod and telescoping arm, the Osmo Mobile 8 doubles as your camera crew — if your crew were compact, quiet, and unreasonably good at keeping up.
Battery life clocks in at around 10 hours, which is probably about nine hours longer than your enthusiasm for editing. It even charges your phone via USB-C, ensuring your livestream doesn’t die before your dignity does.
The updated DJI Mimo app turns the whole thing into a pocket editing suite, offering AI-assisted tracking, automatic scene recognition, and one-tap video templates for when you want to look cinematic without putting in the effort. It also supports Apple DockKit and Huawei’s smart tracking features, so no matter what side of the ecosystem war you’re on, DJI’s got you stabilized.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 was officially announced in China on October 22, 2025, where it retails for 898 yuan [CH] (around US$123) and is already shipping. It has also been listed in the U.S. but is not yet available. Up north in Canada, though, it’s out now, starting at US$159.
