I noticed that whenever there’s a sleep-aiding device on crowdfunding platform, it will be enthusiastically received by the community. The Dreamlight Smart Sleep Mask you see here is no exception. It has about a month to go on Indiegogo, but it has already raise over $70K from more than 350 backers. The campaign is well over 230 percent funded and it is showing no signs of stopping. I can only reason that modern homo sapiens are sleep deprived. Well, mostly.
So, what the heck is Dreamlight. Without going too deep into the details, lets just say that it is a smart mask that promised to help to fall asleep with easy, sleep better and wake up all energized. It uses both gentle light and sound to coax you to sleep and wakes you up, while the mask itself is designed to relief your face’s sensitive areas from the pressure traditional masks may imposed. It has built-in heart-rate monitor and gyroscope works to pick up vital signs to offer you insight into your sleep and, with the help of a companion app, advises you how to get the best rest possible.
What Dreamlight proposed to do is what many similar devices in the market has promised to do. That being said, most of us should be quite familiar what it can do. We do not doubt its effectiveness. However, the only question that we need to ask ourselves is, will we have the discipline to follow through to achieve what the device hoped to help us achieve?
