From the front, the Verge TS looks like any old motorcycle, but as you move your eyes to the rear, it becomes apparent that this is no ordinary electric bike. It has a hubless rear. When looking at the bike from front to rear, it almost feels like one has traveled from the past to the future.
The rear is an innovative integrated rim motor that produces a peak power of 80 kW and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. This combination enables it to wipe the century spring in under 4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 111 mph (179 km/h). Certainly not the fastest, but fast enough.
The hubless real design of Verge TS reminds us of Tron Lightcycle, but only more practical. Wish the front could be hubless too. Just saying…
The electric motor is paired to a battery system that offers anything from 200 to 300 kilometers (124-186 miles) of riding and an onboard charger affords 100 percent charge in 4 hours and just 45-50 minutes with DC fast charging.
Verge TS is the product of Finland-based Verge (formerly known as RMK Vehicles). It is priced at €24.990 (roughly US$27,050) and it is now available for pre-order with a refundable €2.000 (about U$2,165) deposit.
