Just not too long ago, calling wireless speaker as ‘audiophile-grade’ is unthinkable. But thanks to advancement in Bluetooth technology, it is now possible to have ‘audiophile-grade’ wireless music, although purists may beg to differ. Anyways, that’s already past; we are just here to tell you about Fluance Fi50 2-Way High Performance Bluetooth Speaker which may want to give it a thought if you happen to be in the market for an ‘audiophile-grade’ wireless speaker.
Packed with dual full-range 5” woven glass fiber composite woofers, dual3/5 inch coaxial silk dome ferrofluid cooled tweeters and 40 watt amplifier, Fi50 promised to deliver “clean, undistorted bass, a clear midrange, and transparent natural highs,” and is totally capable of taking on high volume with clarity. Additionally, a pair of finely tuned bass ports helps to regulate low frequency, as well as improve efficiency, while adjustable bass and treble equalizer lets you fine tune the sonic output to the fancy of your ears. Wrapping up the audio performance are floor spikes to eliminate vibration and prevent music distortion.
Aesthetically, it is naturally, pleasing, if not we won’t be talking about it here. It has a rather minimalist design, though not anything out of this world. The enclosure is of handmade wood cabinet, chosen for its resonance suppressing quality and of course, the warmth it brings to the audio.
Other worthy mentions include illuminated touch control panel for volume and equalizer, a 2.1A USB port for charging USB-powered devices, 18 gauge internal lead wire, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR and aptX audio codec, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input, catering to non-Bluetooth enabled sources.
Fluance Fi50 2-Way High Performance Bluetooth Speaker comes in a choice of finishes, including Black Ash (pictured), Natural Walnut, and Lucky Bamboo, and is available through Fluance online store for $199.99.
