If you are in the market for a light tent that’s capable of taking large product photos of, say, a backpack, well, Orange Monkie has just the photography accessory for you. Though, it’s hardly a light tent—it’s more. It’s a foldable photo studio.
Joining the brand’s celebrated Foldio3 and Foldio2 Plus, the Foldio4 is the portable photo studio of choice for those who want to shoot larger products like backpacks, kitchen gadgets, sneakers, and more. Heck, it has such big real estate that you could even use it to shoot a toy diorama. It’s Orange Monkie’s biggest and most sophisticated photo studio yet.
It’s larger, with a 39-inch (100 cm) shooting area, and yet it folds down to a 4-inch compact profile for easy storage and transport. The Foldio4 inherits the hallmarks of its smaller predecessors. It sets up in minutes thanks to the magnetic flaps.
It’s a proper photo studio, complete with a powerful 4-channel LED lighting system. The lighting is, IMHO, the other star feature of this product. I know because I own the Foldio3—and man, it’s a dream photo studio. My only gripe with the 3 is the size and lack of precise lighting control, but I guess those issues have just been overtaken by events.
Anyhoo, the Foldio4 comes with a 4-channel LED controller that lets you adjust each light bar individually, directly from the control panel. You can create directional shadows, dial in gradient lighting on reflective surfaces, and highlight or isolate parts of the product in-camera.
