these days, any Bluetooth speaker that joins the market will be ‘just another Bluetooth speaker’, unless they have something really unique to tout about and we do mean seriously unique, like for example, it has a wireless charging station in addition to regular charging via USB port and that’s exactly what the GroovyW Bluetooth Speaker with Wireless Charging Station from LUXA2 has to offer. on one hand, it can be kind of cumbersome to be lugging not one, but two devices around, but on the other hand, we are pretty lured to its wireless Qi charging base.
the charging base, which boasts a 4,000 mAh lithium polymer battery, lets you charge any Qi-compatible devices such as the Nexus devices, as well as charging another device via USB, simultaneously. in all honesty, the speaker itself is pretty much a standard flair, offering 2.1 stereo sound, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC for tap-to-pair, a 2,200 mAh lithium-ion battery for up to 15 hours of play time (or up to 30 hours with the charging pad), a set of LED battery status indicator, built-in microphone with speakerphone functionality, LED touch controls, and finally, an auxiliary input jack for, you know, non-Bluetooth enabled sources.
personally, i thought the GroovyW Bluetooth Speaker with Wireless Charging Station dangerously straddle at the border of being ‘just another Bluetooth speaker’, if not for the added wireless charging pad (which the LUXA2 refers to as Power Pad, btw). so, if you are in the market for a wireless Qi charging device and also needs a new Bluetooth speaker, or vice versa, this might be it. however, we can’t advise you of the price as there is no word on the pricing at the time of this writing, neither was the availability make known.
