TRON Heroes of the Grid Collectors Set

I would like to say good things about the latest HasLab campaign, but honestly, I can’t. Not that it isn’t great—because it might be—but this one is staring down a popularity issue bigger than the MCP itself. I’m not sure what’s going through the executives’ minds when greenlighting the TRON: Heroes of the Grid 3.75-inch Collectors Set. That’s right, my friends, we’re talking about collector-worthy TRON action figures and lightcycles. On paper, it sounds cool. In reality? I don’t have high hopes that it’ll ever meet its funding goal of 10,000 backers.

And before you accuse me of being a downer, hear me out. History has shown that even pop culture heavyweights can crash and burn in HasLab land. Remember the Black Series Rancor? Canceled. Reva’s Force FX Elite Lightsaber? Canceled. Cookie Monster? Yep, canceled. If icons with that kind of recognition couldn’t rally the troops, then what chance does TRON, a niche cult classic from 1982, have? At the time of writing, it has a measly 879 backers. That’s not even enough to fill Flynn’s Arcade on a Friday night.

But here’s the kicker: the set itself is actually pretty sweet. You’re getting five 3.75-inch (about 9.5 cm) figures—Flynn, Yori, Sark, Tron, and a generic Program—all styled after the original 1982 film. They look like they leapt straight off the glowing grid. Two lightcycles are included, complete with removable light walls and screen-accurate seating so you can relive those derezz moments in miniature. It even comes with a USB-C powered LED-lit Grid display base (cord not included, but who doesn’t have twenty lying around anyway?).

The whole package is presented in collector-friendly 1:18 scale, with retro design choices faithful to the source material. It’s the kind of thing that would look amazing on a shelf… if enough people fund it to exist. And that’s the rub. The price isn’t pocket change, either: US$259.99, plus a US$34.99 surcharge if you aren’t a Hasbro Pulse Premium member. The campaign runs from October 9 to November 24, 2025, with estimated shipping in December 2026.

So here we are: a glowing, neon-soaked gamble that could either be a cult collector’s gem or a derezzed HasLab casualty. I want to believe in it. Really, I do. But unless TRON fandom suddenly comes out of the digital woodwork, this might just be remembered as another ambitious HasLab project that got trapped on the grid—and never made it back out.
