Funny how in the Marvel Universe, Wolverine has existed since the 1800s, but toys featuring him as a soldier, mercenary, and as a test subject of the Weapon X program are far and few between. Well, it looks like the executives over at Hasbro realized this void, and so, here it is, the Marvel Legends Series Wolverine (WWII Logan).
You may have seen Hugh Jackman in military garb in the live-action, but this is not him; this one is how Wolverine appeared in Marvel’s X-Men and Wolverine comics. This 6-inch (15 cm) figure strips Wolverine of the superhero tights and drops him into his World War II years, complete with gear, knife, satchel, and a weapon accessory that actually makes him look like he belongs in a trench more than on a team roster. The sculpt stays true to the gritty comic-book Logan, giving collectors a version that has been largely ignored on toy shelves.
As always, articulation is the star of the Marvel Legends line. WWII Logan comes with over 20 points of articulation, so you can pose him charging into battle, lighting up a cigar, or simply brooding on your shelf. The set also includes an alternate head and three pairs of swappable hands to match his many moods—whether that’s slashing, stabbing, or sulking.
Hasbro even worked in a nod to Logan’s history with Captain America, Bucky, and Nick Fury. A reminder that before Logan was yelling at Cyclops, pining after Jean Grey, and sulking about their relationship, he was already clawing his way through World War II. That’s the Logan you’re getting here—rough, grizzled, and battle-ready.
