HEAVYS Heavy Metal Magazine Shells

We’ve seen a myriad of collabs over the years, but none quite as on-brand—by both purpose and name—as this new accessory from HEAVYS. As you may know, HEAVYS makes headphones engineered specifically for heavy metal music. And Heavy Metal Magazine is an illustrated anthology that, while it doesn’t dabble in music, radiates the same raw, gritty energy as the genre itself. Or at the very least, it shares a name with what HEAVYS was built for. You see where this is going, don’t you?

HEAVYS Heavy Metal Magazine Shells

So yes, HEAVYS has teamed up with the legendary Heavy Metal Magazine to drop the Taarna and Nelson Edition shells—snap-on accessories designed to give your HEAVYS cans a fresh new look. I know what you’re thinking: that ain’t exactly Cannibal Corpse or Paradise Lost. True. But if you’re into channeling that heavy metal vibe with a dash more art than gore, these limited edition shells have you covered.

The HEAVYS x Heavy Metal Magazine editions are available in two styles—Taarna and Nelson—as standalone shells for existing HEAVYS users, or bundled with the HEAVYS headphones. The shells-only package includes two shells (one for each earcup), while the bundle throws in a pair of HEAVYS H1N headphones, a set of Limited Edition Taarna or Nelson shells, plus the original HEAVYS shells, along with the usual suspects of auxiliary cable and USB-C charging cable. HEAVYS is also throwing in a premium protective travel case, too.

The shells-only kit retails for US$39, while the full bundle goes for US$338. That said, last we checked, HEAVYS was running a 9% discount on the bundle—bringing it down to US$309. Good news if you haven’t already picked up a pair of these metal-loving cans.
