This year’s CES, like previous ones in recent years, isn’t just about traditional consumer electronics. Automakers, including Honda (yes, again), use it to unveil tech-heavy prototypes, as electric vehicles blur the line between cars and gadgets. Speaking of which, the Japanese automaker has brought along 2 prototypes and showcased many new tech, including the Honda Original Vehicle OS.
The Saloon and SUV Prototypes Take Center Stage
At CES 2025, Honda showcased the future of EV mobility with the world premiere of the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV prototypes. Fans of sleek concepts might recognize the Honda 0 Saloon—it first appeared as a concept car at CES 2024, and now it’s gearing up for production.
The Saloon retains its striking low-profile design and spacious interior while packing in enough cutting-edge tech to make the Jetsons jealous. Its sibling, the Honda 0 SUV, turns the Space-Hub concept introduced last year into reality, boasting a roomy cabin, panoramic views, and adaptability that redefines flexibility. Both vehicles embody Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” development philosophy, with next-generation technologies taking center stage.
ASIMO OS: From Iconic Robot to Intelligent OS
Looks like Honda has taken a page off Huawei’s playbook by developing its OS. Both models come equipped with Honda’s ASIMO OS, a nod to the beloved humanoid robot. The OS isn’t just a cool name; it’s a powerhouse, delivering personalized driving experiences with continuous updates via over-the-air software. Expect advanced driver assistance systems, custom infotainment options, and automation that feels like the future has already arrived.
Level 3 automated driving technology allows drivers to safely take their eyes off the road during certain conditions. Whether binge-watching your favorite series or tackling emails mid-commute, the Honda 0 Series brings multitasking to your car.
Energy That’s Smarter and Greener
Honda’s new energy strategy includes a robust charging network with 30,000 high-quality stations planned by 2030. Paired with a smart home energy management system, the Honda 0 Series can intelligently charge during off-peak hours and even sell excess energy back to the grid. Your EV could soon double as a money-maker.
When Will We See Them?
The Honda 0 SUV is set to debut in North America in early 2026, with the Honda 0 Saloon following later in the year. Global rollouts for both models will come shortly after, promising to bring Honda’s vision for smarter, greener mobility to the masses.
