Honda’s Super Cub, a scooter known for its legendary practicality, has received a feline makeover. To celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th birthday, Honda has unleashed two limited-edition models: the Super Cub 50 Hello Kitty and the Super Cub 110 Hello Kitty.
These scooters aren’t just for zipping around—they’re for turning heads, spreading joy, and making everyone within a 10-mile radius squeal.
The “Magna Red” paint job screams Hello Kitty’s iconic style, while logos, character designs, and dainty ribbon accents adorn the leg shield, side covers, and even the ignition key. It’s the two-wheeled equivalent of a catwalk show, quite literally.
The Super Cub 50 is a lightweight contender at 96 kg (212 lbs), while the Super Cub 110 bulks up slightly at 101 kg (223 lbs) and can carry two people—because what’s a Kitty adventure without company?
The Cub 50’s modest 49cc engine purrs out 3.7 PS, while the 110’s 109cc engine flexes 8 PS of feline ferocity. Both models promise fuel efficiency that could make hybrid cars blush, with the Cub 50 clocking in at an astonishing 105 km/l (247 mpg) at 30 km/h (19 mph).
Honda has made only 1,300 of these Kittymobiles: 300 for the 50cc version and 1,000 for the 110cc. Prices start at 330,000 yen (approximately 2,138 USD) for the Cub 50 and 385,000 yen (around 2,495 USD) for the Cub 110, with taxes and registration fees not included.
There’s a catch, though. You have until November 24, 2024 (in Japan, obviously), to place your order [JP]. After that, they’ll be as elusive as a stray cat in the rain.
