The last time we talked about a Honda Super Cub and a Honda Monkey, they were heavily custom. Not this time. This time, I find myself strangely drawn to these two new two-wheelers from Honda, the 2022 Honda Super Cub C125 and Monkey 125.
The Super Cub now boasts a two-seater seat (finally!) and revised suspension to improve ride comfort. The matte gray color option and the very 50s classic red seats are probably what draws me to it.
The Monkey, on the other hand, gets a new engine mated to a new 5-speed gearbox that Honda said “improve its long distance performance.” The Monkey is treated to a new Pearl Glittering Blue color scheme that oozes with retro vibe. Very nice.
Both vehicles are powered by air-cooled engines that comply with EURO5 homologation.
Super Cub powered by a SOHC engine and further features rear footrests and full LED lighting. Meanwhile, the Monkey’s engine produces 6.9 kW and 11 Nm, and has a range 370 km from its 5.6 L tank.
The Monkey further touts a steel frame, chunky 12-inch tires, high-quality USD front fork, two-stage rear shocks, plus retro design touches like mini-ape handlebars, chrome fenders, raise exhaust and a large padded seat.
Damn. Both bikes look absolutely (retro) gorgeous!
Prices are not known, but we do know they will be available in Europe in August 2021.
