Christopher Nolan probably took a page from Tim Burton’s playbook when he introduced the Batcycle as the Tumbler’s escape vehicle. Wait, what? Yes, for those who aren’t aware, Tim Burton’s Batmobile also had an escape vehicle called the Batmissile.
The Batmissile might not win any beauty contests, but it’s as iconic as the 1989 Batmobile which came from. And now, thanks to Hot Toys, this legendary screen vehicle is immortalized as a 1/6th scale collectible.
The Batmissile was Batman‘s ultimate escape plan when The Penguin hijacked the Batmobile in “Batman Returns.” Amid the chaos caused by the Red Triangle Gang, Batman activates this high-tech escape mechanism to evade the GCPD. This sleek, missile-like vehicle showcases the advanced technology of Batman‘s iconic ride.
Hot Toys has brought this super-vehicle to life as a stunning 1/6th scale collectible. The Batmissile can be paired with the Batman figure to recreate those iconic scenes. The highly detailed collectible captures the Batmissile’s appearance from the movie with extreme precision and outstanding paint applications. It features intricate mechanical details throughout both the interior and exterior.
Measuring approximately 109 cm (43 inches or 3.6 feet) in length—which is mind-blowing, enormous proportion, btw—the collectible includes a meticulously crafted cockpit, complete with LED light-up dashboard panel and a slide-open canopy that recreates the cinematic setting. Additionally, the orange LED light at the back of the vehicle simulates a flame effect, while the extendable wheels enhance its dynamic design.
For those who want to add this piece of Batman history to their collection, the price is available upon request from your favorite retailer. If you need a ballpark, Sideshow is having it on pre-order for US$610. The Hot Toys Batman Returns Batmissile 1/6th Scale Collectible Vehicle will be released sometime in Q4 2025-Q1, 2026.
Ah, Hot Toys… never learn their lesson that some fans are not keen on waiting that long for a toy. More so that fans of Tim Burton’s Batman are most middle-aged at this point. The clock is ticking, Hot Toys.
