Because of MCU, we almost forgot the pre-Robert Downey Jr. original look of Iron Man. It was a classic, born out of the 60s. The very first suit was a chunky gray armor which quickly replaced with an armor that was sleeker and more closely resemble human’s organic form and in the now very recognizable red-and-gold colorway.
Iron Man Model 2 and its subsequent models as appeared in the early days of Marvel Comics were classic that look just as good today. Celebrating this, Hot Toys has initiated a new collection, The Origins Collection, starting with Iron Man Suit Armor (Deluxe Version).
This new Hot Toys Iron Man [The Origins Collection] Suit Armor (Deluxe Version) is a die cast 1/6th scale figure and it is a re-imagining of Marvel Comics’ armor-clad superhero in crystal armors.
The Hot Toys Marvel Comics Iron Man [The Origins Collection] (Deluxe Version) 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure (phew! Quite a mouthful, ain’t it?) is totally posable, with 30 points of articulation and boasts LED light-up functions on a newly crafted helmet head and on its upper body.
Other highlights include an intricate design armor with mechanical details, metallic red and gold paint applications, crystal clear armor parts, interchangeable mask and armor parts, Arc Reactor on chest and palms, and of course, the requisite interchangeable hands.
The figure is presented in Tony Stark’s Workshop-themed diorama base with LED light-up function, featuring articulated gantry arms, extra armor parts, holographic screen accessories, and an Iron Man suitcase with articulated function.
The Hot Toys Marvel Comics Iron Man [The Origins Collection] (Deluxe Version) 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure is expected to release sometime in Q3-Q4 2022. If you are interested, you may want to secure yours by pre-ordering the figure from Sideshow for US$405.
