Huawei FreeBuds Pro And Huawei FreeBuds Studio Headphones

Here’s another TWS earbuds for those in the market for one. This one is from Huawei, called FreeBuds Pro. No prize for guessing why we feature this even though it was last month’s news. This pair is looking good, despite it rocking the “stemmed” design started by Apple AirPods.

Like EarFun Air Pro, Huawei FreeBuds Pro is not poor copy of Apple’s. It has a tiny rectangular block instead, which look a lot less awkward than you know what. This pair touts hybrid active noise cancellation afforded by an inward-facing and two outward-facing microphones.

Huawei said FreeBuds Pro is capable of cancelling noise of up to 40 dB. That’s not all. It further boasts “intelligent dynamic ANC” which basically switches the noise cancellation mode based on the ambient sounds it picks up.

Other highlights include Voice Mode for conversation without removing earbuds, 11 mm dynamic drivers, dynamic equalizer adjustment that offers ideal frequency response curve based on a variety of parameters, clearer calls with Bone Voice Sensor, dual anti-wind noise design, Bluetooth 5.2 chipset, and intelligent dual Bluetooth antenna.

Sale of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro starts this month (October) and it commands a rather hefty €199 a pair (or approximately US$236).

If TWS earbuds aren’t your cuppa, there’s the newly revealed Huawei FreeBuds Studio, a pair of over-ear ANC cans, coming your way. I see the Studio as the headphones version of the FreeBuds Pro… with larger drivers, of course.

In addition to intelligent dynamic ANC, awareness mode and dual Bluetooth antenna design, it further touts omnidirectional 8 microphones system to enable superior noise cancellation and it supports high resolution audio, pumped out through a 40 mm dynamic driver on each ear cup.

It also touts a thing called Tee Audio Tube (TAT) acoustic architecture that further filter out medium and high frequency noise, and affords comfortable wearing experience by balancing the air pressure in the wearer’s ears.

Other notables include Bluetooth 5.2, wear detection, ultra-wide frequency response range (4 Hz to 48 kHz), dual device connection, 6-mic call noise cancellation, support L2HC high-res Codec, and a 410 mAh battery good for 24 hours playback without ANC.

Huawei FreeBuds Studio ANC Headphones will sell for €299 (around US$354) when it becomes available in Europe markets.
