You got to give it to Huawei. In face of U.S. sanction, it not only managed to unveiled new phones, but also demanding pretty penny for them. More on that in a bit. So, yes, a new P series, the P50, have been announced and surprise, surprise, it actually runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip. Albeit, the 4G version.
The P50 is a milestone for the telecommunication equipment maker because, it is the first smartphone to come with HarmonyOS, out-of-the-box. In addition to the Snapdragon model, there is also a Kirin 9000 version available for the Pro model.
That said, as with in the past, the P50 is offered in two flavors: P50 Pro and P50. We heard the P50 will be last of Huawei device to feature Leica collaboration. So, it is something to note if you are planning on getting it if it ever get sold outside of China.

The Huawei P50 Series will go on sale in China on August 12 with a starting price of 4,488 yuan for the P50 and 5,988 yuan for the P50 Pro. That works out to be around US$695 and US$927, respectively, which is a lot of money in China for a 4G device.
