If you ask me, the Hyakushinki Gundam Tin Sake Cup Limited Edition looks nothing like a sake cup but the gold foil treatment and the fact it is a Gundam makes it must-share news.
This is not the first time Mobile Suit Gundam has stepped out of its anime and gunpla zones, however. It has lent its name to more related products like computer peripherals, as well as unlikely products like tofu and sardines (and oh, and hot pot too!).
The Hyakushinki Gundam Tin Sake Cup Limited Edition is, as the product name implies, made entirely out of tin – a material that is said to make sake mellow.
Each cup is individually handmade using traditional craft and therefore no two cups will be the same.
The exquisite drinkware is presented in a handsome Paulownia box, a traditional handcrafted gift box, complete with monochrome artwork.
The Hyakushinki Gundam Tin Sake Cup Limited Edition is available from Premium Bandai Japan for 16,280 yen or about US$143.
