IKEA STRÅLA Matchstick-shaped Floor Lamp

Only IKEA could turn oversized matchsticks into something you’d actually want in your living room. Meet the STRÅLA LED floor lamp, a playful little number that looks like three giant matchsticks doing a cross-legged dance. Designer Lukas Bazle clearly woke up one morning, stared at a box of matches, and thought: “Yeah, that’s it. Lighting about lighting.”

This lamp isn’t just a visual gag, though. It’s made of solid pine with a clear lacquer finish, giving it a warm, natural vibe that doesn’t scream “fire hazard.” The shade and switch cover are polycarbonate plastic, with a steel mounting bracket tucked inside for good measure. In other words, it’s more solid than it looks.

Functionally, it’s a cozy mood-setter. The STRÅLA puts out a modest 5 lumens of soft light, and the two-step dimmer lets you go from “Netflix-and-chill glow” to “I’m just here to read quietly” mode. At 66 cm tall (26″), 33 cm wide (13″), and with a 2.5-meter (8′ 2″) cord, it’s small enough to fit most spaces yet quirky enough to start conversations.

The IKEA STRÅLA matchstick-shaped LED floor lamp retails for US$39.99. For that price, you can light up your space without burning one down. Keep going to steal a few more looks at this novel floor lamp.
