IKEA UPPÅTVIND Portable Air Purifier

Not everyone can afford an air purifier for each room and no one wants to move a huge-ass air purifier around every time they move to another room. Unless you have a Robot Air Purifier, your best bet for air purification wherever you go is Dyson Zone Air Purifying Headphones. Nah. Just kidding. You don’t have to look silly to breathe clean air because there is this: IKEA UPPÅTVIND Portable Air Purifier.

IKEA UPPÅTVIND Portable Air Purifier

The IKEA UPPÅTVIND Portable Air Purifier measures just 11 inches tall, 5 inches deep, and 9 inches wide (about 28 x 13 x 23 centimeters) but despite the small size, it is certainly not lacking air purifying capabilities – thanks to its two-stage air filtration system.

UPPÅTVIND boasts two layers of filter: a pre-filter which you can easily clean with a vacuum cleaner and a particle filter that needs replacing when dirt builds up. An LED indicator will let you know if the filter needs to be checked and possibly replaced.

The two-stage filtration is capable of removing more than 99.5 percent of small airborne particles as small as PM2.5, as well as nasties like dust, and pollen.

The device has 3 fan speeds to suit your home’s needs. Obviously, higher speed will be noisier. But it shouldn’t bother most people as it generates 55 dB at the highest fan speed (and just 31 dB at the lowest fan speed). To put things in perspective, 55 dB is a normal conversation level of noise or noise of an electric fan in operation.

The UPPÅTVIND’s Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is between 18 cu.ft./min. to 55 cu.ft./min (around 0.510 cu.m./min.-1.56 cu.m./min).

The air purifier can be set upright or on its side, and an integrated handle lets you move it between rooms with ease. For folks who are obsessed with cord cutting, you’d be glad to know that it has practical cable management that lets you slide the cord to one corner of the appliance to hide it.

But perhaps the best draw of this little guy is that it is super affordable, costing just US$34.99 a pop.
