Any person who is serious about clean air will have more than one air purifier placed in their homes, probably one in each room. However, one Chinese company wants users to do away with multiple air purifiers. Folks, meet the ECOVACS AIRBOT AVA Robot Air Purifier.
You heard that right. That is a mobile air purifier. ECOVACS here is, of course, the company best known for its DEEBOT line of robot vacuum cleaner. The robot vacuum maker has leveraged on its expertise in indoor navigation to create a mobile air purifier that will travel to room-to-room to purify the air.
AIRBOT AVA uses aerospace’s Time of Flight technology and no less than 23 smart sensors, including downward-facing IR, to achieve TrueDetect technology and TrueMapping, ensuring that it knows where to go without bumping to anything.
Like a robot vacuum cleaner, it can go around autonomously to purify air, or go where you want it to go using the companion app. AIRBOT AVA works with air monitor satellites which you placed in each room or area. When any of these air monitor detects poor air quality, AIRBOT AVA will enter the room or area and proceed to clean the air. Each unit comes with just one air monitor satellite. However, more can be purchased.
The machine itself is effective for rooms up to 120 square meters. The robot can detect over 300 types of air impurities, bacteria and viruses, and uses a 6-stage purification system – which include a H13-grade HEPA filter – to rid the air of impurities.
Moreover, onboard VOC sensor is capable of sniffing out formaldehyde and other odors, so you’d be in the know what’s harmful in the air. Plus, laser dust detector can detect PM2.5 particulate matters.
The ECOVACS AIRBOT AVA Robot Air Purifier is not a concept, btw. It is a real product money can buy, but only in China for now. ECOVACS is taking pre-order in China via its online store and it does not come cheap. It will run you back at a hefty 5,999 RMB or roughly US$918.
