Given how Transformers is such big deal in China, I am surprised mobile phone makers haven’t already caught with the franchise. Oh, wait. There is, or there will be, by the way of IQOO 3 Transformers Edition Smartphone.
Info is scarce at this point. All we have now is, it is based on the Vivo iQOO 3 5G and sporting a carbon fiber-like back cover with Autobots emblem with a tagline “MONSTER INSIDE.”
There’s some noticeable gold accents, specifically on the rim of the rear camera bump, the frame of the device, and the iQOO branding.
I am sure it is going to come with Transformers-themed packaging, case and maybe a Transformers theme. But that’s just speculation on my part.
Beyond that, the hardware should remain unchanged with the regular iQOO 3 5G. Though I am sure it will be offered with just one configuration. I am guessing it would be the range-topping 12 GB LPDDR5 memory and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The device, if nothing has changed, should be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and features Adreno 650 GPU. Similar, it should be outfitted with a 6.44-inch 20:9 aspect ration FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, with a hole-punch camera of 16 MP resolution and in-display fingerprint sensor.
Around the back is should also get the same quad-camera setup of 48 MP main camera, 13 MP super wide-angle AF camera, 13 MP 50 mm portrait camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor, along with a 4,400 mAh battery with 55 W fast charging.
The IQOO 3 Transformers Edition Smartphone is expected to go on sale in China on June 1st, 2020. Pricing is unknown at this point.
