Sometimes when you are worn out from the day’s work, even showering can feel like a chore. At some point, you have probably wished there was a human washing machine—a cubicle you could step into to wash and dry your body. Well, the good news is we are living in the future where human washing machines are a thing, and now, body dryers too. The iRiver Hands-free Body Dryer IAS-D1 is not quite a decontamination-style cubicle, but it is probably as close as most of us are going to get.

At first glance, the IAS-D1 looks a little like a bathroom scale crossed with an air purifier. Standing 163.4 mm (6.4 inches) tall and measuring 490.5 mm (19.3 inches) long by 382 mm (15 inches) wide, the cream beige appliance sits neatly on the bathroom floor, waiting for freshly showered feet. Step onto the platform and a built-in weight detection sensor automatically starts the drying process. Step off, and it shuts down on its own.
The idea is super simple. Rather than reaching for a towel, users stand on the platform while air flows upward from beneath. According to iRiver, the system is designed to dry not only the feet but the entire body. The company even claims the experience feels a bit like standing on a cloud, which may be marketing doing what marketing does best, but the soft curves and minimalist design certainly help sell the idea.
Powering the dryer is a dual PTC heating system paired with four airflow levels ranging from 11.5 m/s to 18 m/s. Users can choose between natural air, low heat, and high heat modes depending on the season or personal preference. The dryer operates at between 74 and 81 dB, making it noticeably quieter than a typical hair dryer, which often exceeds 100 dB.
One of the more unusual features is what iRiver calls Y-Zone Care. A dedicated airflow outlet can adjust its angle to direct air toward areas that are typically more difficult to dry. The company says the airflow angle can be adjusted to better suit adults and children of different heights.

The IAS-D1 also places a strong emphasis on hygiene. The standing platform is treated with antimicrobial technology from Swiss hygiene specialist Sanitized, which iRiver claims provides 99.99 percent antibacterial protection. The footplate is removable for cleaning, while the rear intake filter can be detached and cleaned periodically to keep airflow unrestricted.
Family-friendly features include a child lock, IPX4 splash resistance, and a sturdy structure rated to support users weighing up to 150 kilograms (330 pounds). There is even an integrated weight measurement function, allowing the appliance to double as a bathroom scale.
Touch-sensitive controls sit on the top surface, allowing users to adjust temperature, airflow, and operating modes with a simple tap of the foot. There is also an automatic mode and a power-saving mode that activates after three minutes of inactivity.
The iRiver Body Dryer IAS-D1 is not the first body dryer on the market, but it does appear to be one of the more feature-packed examples. Between the antibacterial platform, adjustable drying modes, integrated scale, and dedicated hygiene-focused airflow system, it is trying to be more than just a warm-air machine for your feet. Whether it becomes an essential bathroom appliance or remains a luxury convenience is another question entirely, but there is no denying it offers a far more interesting alternative to reaching for the same towel every day.
The iRiver Body Dryer is the first and certainly not the only one. There are a bunch in the market. Anyhoo, it was launched in September 2025, for 369,000 won [KR] (about 243 USD) in Korea. We found it being sold on this website called WCONCEPT for US$257.
