Well, this news sure strikes a chord with me. One of the world’s most requested “bar calls”, Whiskey and Coke aka Bourbon and Coke or just Bourbon Coke, is available as a ready-to-drink (RTD) – thanks to a collaboration between Brown-Forman, makers of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola.
The aptly named Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola RTD [JP] debuted on store shelves in 350-ml (11.8 oz) cans in Mexico last November and it is now set to release in Japan on April 10. The co-branded, pre-mixed cocktail made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola will be available stateside and in other markets in North America and Europe this year (2023).
Bourbon Coke has been the favorite go-to drink at bars and clubs. So popular that there are tons of recipes on how to make your own. Even Jack Daniel’s itself has offered up the classic American cocktail recipe on its website.
But for those who are too lazy to do it on your own every time you want to chug down this awesome alcoholic cocktail, the Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola RTD is the answer. TBH, I never thought I would see the day that my personal favorite whiskey and soda brands did come together to make this happen.
And can we give some credit to the can’s graphic design? It is a perfect matrimony of the two brands. Anyhoo, in case anyone’s wondering about the level of alcohol content, the Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola RTD contains 7% of alcohol. So, yeah, it is pretty light. For the uninitiated, Jack Daniel’s Whisky ABV is 40%-70%.
