This is JMEY M2 Water Dispenser. We are not sure if it is directly related to Xiaomi, but the fact that JMEY in Chinese has a “mi” in it, it could be somehow related. Anywho, back to the JMEY M2 Water Dispenser.
It is not quite your usual water dispenser. It is super tiny. And it offers hot water in a matter of 3 seconds. Perfect for times when you want to make a cup of coffee, tea, or instant noodle without waiting for minutes.
JMEY M2 further touts 7 level of temperature, ranging from 25 degrees Celsius to 99 degrees Celsius (77-210 Fahrenheit). Since it is desktop size, hot water, or just water, will be literally within arm’s reach.
What’s interesting about this desktop appliance is, it can be used with a regular bottled water (via an adapter) or an external reservoir if higher volume is desired. But for a person who drink shit load of water each day, the 1.3 L (44 fl. oz.) reservoir wouldn’t cut it. Thankfully, though, it can be hooked up to a larger water bottle (you know, those regular water dispenser’s bottle?).
The design is sleek and includes an integrated smart temperature display. JMEY is marketing this as not just a water-within-arm’s reach appliance, but it also proposed it as a travel companion that will have your hot water need covered when traveling.
Considering that it weighs just 600g (1.32 lbs), it could be part of a traveler’s gear. However, it is worthy to note that it is not battery-powered. It does require a 220V power outlet.
So, will you be able to buy it? Well, maybe. JMEY M2 Water Dispenser is available on Xiaomi Youpin for 279 yuan (roughly US$40). It can also be found on AliExpress, but be warned, it is being sold at a premium of US$71.60.
