That’s right, folks. There’s another Jurassic World movie. Man, this franchise just refuses to go extinct, doesn’t it? I bet Michael Crichton never would have imagined two books could be the source of so many films. Speaking of which, if you’ve read his books (namely Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World), you might want to buckle up for this one. David Koepp, who penned the first two films, has blended concepts from both novels for a fresh take.

And fresh is exactly what Jurassic World Rebirth, as the new film is called, promises—right before things inevitably spiral into chaos. Scarlett Johansson stars as covert ops specialist Zora Bennett, leading a team on a top-secret mission to an abandoned island research facility. Their goal? Retrieve some very special dino DNA that could unlock life-saving medical breakthroughs.
Of course, things don’t go as planned. A capsized family boating expedition adds more humans to the dino buffet, while Mahershala Ali (as Kincaid) and Jonathan Bailey (playing a paleontologist who presumably regrets all his life choices) help navigate the madness. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) and written by Koepp, the film promises a thrilling blend of nostalgia, adventure, and dinosaur-fueled mayhem.
I love Gareth Edwards’ work on Rogue One: A Star War Story, so I have high hopes for this latest Jurassic movie.
Jurassic World Rebirth—because dinosaurs and corporate greed never go extinct.
The Jurassic World Rebirth will hit the theaters in July 2025.
