Kawasaki CORLEO Four-legged Vehicle

Forget wheels. Kawasaki wants your next off-road ride to walk—literally. Meet CORLEO, a four-legged, hydrogen-powered, terrain-conquering robot vehicle that looks like it escaped a sci-fi movie and wandered into Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

Billed as a concept for the year 2050, CORLEO is Kawasaki’s answer to the age-old question: What if your dirt bike had legs? Built on the company’s deep knowledge of robotics and motorcycles, this strange-but-fascinating creature can stride across rocky terrain, march through shallow water, and handle mountain trails—all without asking you to be a seasoned motocross champ.

Riding CORLEO is more like horseback riding than motorcycling. You control it through weight shifts, while a clever swingarm system lets the rear legs move independently of the front. That means better shock absorption and stability, along with a clear view of what lies ahead. The whole thing runs on hydrogen, with a fuel canister tucked into the rear leg and an engine in the front—making it eco-friendly, weirdly adorable, and just a little terrifying.

CORLEO is part of Kawasaki’s “Impulse to Move” showcase, a theme inspired by the idea that humans are wired to find joy in motion. And while this bot-cycle isn’t on sale yet, visitors to the Expo can catch it striking poses like a model at a futuristic catwalk.

Hydrogen-powered, legged, and mountain-ready—CORLEO isn’t just thinking outside the box. It walked out of the box and went hiking. Hmmm, why does that look like something straight out of a Horizon video game?
