Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki have formed an association dubbed HySE (Hydrogen Small mobility & Engine technology) to research hydrogen small engines for small mobility. On Yamaha’s end, it has revealed its plan for a hydrogen outboard motor as well as a hydrogen sports vehicle. Meanwhile, Kawasaki explores the first hydrogen-powered sports bike called the Kawasaki Ninja HySE.
The Kawasaki Ninja HySE is essentially the Ninja with a green ambition. This Ninja HySE is based on the Ninja H2 SX sports tourer but while it has the familiar silhouette, the prototype hydrogen-powered variant is more geometric and clearly bulked up due to the components it has to carry to enable the new type of fuel.
The two-wheeler is still under development and while it does have a prototype, details including performance aren’t disclosed.
