It has been a while since we last featured LaCie here and the company’s latest portable storage, LaCie Portable SSD, sure will not disappoint in either department. Aimed squarely at creative professionals who uses MacBook, LaCie Portable SSD is a super thin, ultra compact portable SSD that boasts up to 540 MB/s read and 500 MB/s write speeds, with the looks to kill. OK. Maybe it is not nearly as cool as the last SSD we saw from Samsung, but still, it is a very aesthetically-pleasing device.

Like I said, as far as looks is concerned, LaCie never seem to disappoint style-conscious users who demands the best. Onboard the portable SSD is a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port that is cable of pushing out an hour of 4K 30fps video in under a minute and with storage capacities of up to 2 TB, it can pack up to 65 hours of 4K 30fps videos, or up to 20,000 RAW photos. It is pre-formatted exFAT, which means it will play well with both macOS and Windows, and it is designed to be tough with drop resistance of up to 2 meters (6.6 feet).

Each unit comes bundle with LaCie Toolkit Software Suite, one complimentary month of Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan, a three-year limited warranty, three-year Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Plan, and it comes supplied with a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB 3.0 cable. The recommended retail price is starting at $124.99, but we learned that B&H Photo’s prices start at $114.99. LaCie Portable SSD is available in three capacities: 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB.
