as if the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 isn’t flashy and powerful enough, Lamborghini has unveiled an even more insane Aventador to mark its 50th year. dubbed the Lamborghini Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario, it is a super car with a super limited production number – 100 units, to be more precise – and it will be strutting all its awesomeness at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show later this week. as you might have already noticed, it is labeled LP 720-4 and for good reason: thanks to a new specific engine tuning, the 6.5-liter V12 engine now pumps out 720 ponies, which is 20 horses more than the ‘regular’ Aventador LP 700-4. match that with an fast-shifting ISR transmission, this anniversary edition Aventador makes the century sprint in a scant 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h (or about 217 mph).
other obvious exterior enhancements include redesigned front and rear fascias with larger air intakes and extended splitter for improved aerodynamics and engine ventilation. but the most obvious of all is the newly developed Giallo Maggio (May yellow) paintwork, a color that’s exclusive to this anniversary edition, matched to a matte black finish lower portions. of course, the Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario can also be ordered in other color through Lamborghini personalization program, but with a color so rich in heritage and intensity, why would you go any other way? on inside, the cabin features upholstery in fine, natural, semi-aniline leather developed specially for this model, with exclusive Q-Citura stitching (aka diamond pattern stitching). e’nuff said. witness the beauty of this beast for yourself in the gallery below.
