missed the super limited Veneno supercar? well, fret not, cos’ there are nine more units of Veneno hitting the market for the super rich, albeit these nine are droptop versions, known as the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. still bearing the same thought provoking and somewhat alien spaceship-like design as its hardtop sibling, the Veneno roadster is push forth by the same 6.5-liter V12 unit, mated to a crazy fast shifting ISR transmission that put its 750 horsepower (552 kW) to all four wheels and enables this chop top Veneno to makes the century sprint in mere 2.9 seconds, sending on its way to a top speed of 221 mph (355 km/h). despite its somewhat odd but strangely alluring look, the Veneno is actually a machine with optimal aerodynamics and stability, and perhaps this is how the engineers at Sant’Agata derived to this form.
wrapping its carbon fiber reinforced polymer monocoque is a CFRP body, while carbon fiber, arguably the most recognizable symbol of race cars, dominates the interior of this sharp looking beast. other details include a suspension setup comprising of pushrod suspension and spring/damper units, quad exhaust pipes, adjustable rear wing, exclusive alloy wheels with integral cooling feature for the ride’s carbon-ceramic brake discs, a pair of lightweight forged composite bucket seats, and of course, a full complement of safety systems ranging from airbags to the adapted ESP handling system. like its hardtop twin, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster will be sold at a princely sum of €3.3 million each, or about US$4.5 million.
well, with only not more than nine cars planned and to be built through 2014, you may not be able to lay your hands on one even if you have that ridiculous amount of money to spare and this is what the images in the gallery below are for: for us, who will never even get close to one, to ogle over. so go ahead, knock yourself out with the hi-res images below.
