Ever look at people mowing their lawns, be they professionals or amateurs, and go like, “I can do a better job,” or “I will not only do a better job. I can make it a big business too”? Well. Bold claims there, but you probably don’t want to gamble your life based on such unfounded confidence. This is where Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 comes in.
That’s right. One of the many simulation games that put a smile on our faces has a sequel. Imagine that. To be honest, I never imagined it’d be popular enough to warrant a follow-up, but here we are, hearing about it. And it isn’t merely an announcement. The demo is arriving on September 23, 2026, for PC via Steam.
In this sequel, you are leaving the British countryside behind and heading to the U.S. to start a new lawn-care career. Licensed machinery from Kubota, SCAG, and STIGA returns, accompanied by rebuilt grass technology promising more natural-looking lawns and more realistic interactions between blades and mowers.
Running the business is also more involved. A fully explorable headquarters lets you hire employees, maintain and expand your equipment fleet, and oversee operations between contracts. Leaf blowers and string trimmers join the machinery lineup, while new leaf-clearance contracts give autumn something else to throw at you.
Five years after the original Lawn Mowing Simulator, developer Skyhook Games is taking publishing duties into its own hands for the first time. The sequel began as a Kickstarter project, attracting 407 backers and £20,022 in funding.
The full game is destined for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, the demo should reveal whether your confidence in building a lawn-care empire is justified—or whether you should leave the grass to someone else. Meanwhile, here’s the launch trailer:
