LEGO has up its own game with the LEGO 10276 Creator Colosseum Building Set. This accurate LEGO brick model of the Rome’s most iconic landmark is the largest LEGO brick set ever created.
How big, you ask? The LEGO 10276 Creator Colosseum Building Set packs a mind-bending 9,036 pieces and nearly 1,500 pieces over LEGO’s last largest set, the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon. The model is physically imposing too. When built, it is 10.5 inches (27 cm) tall, 20.5 inches (52 cm) wide and a whole 23.5 inches (59 cm) deep.
The set recreates three distinct stories of this historic building, each adorned with the columns of the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian orders using a variety of creative building techniques like recolored, upside down LEGO roller skate element.
Also recreated are the exact number of spectator stands made up of 80 ‘ribs’ and three different shades of bricks to emphasize the aging of the 2,000 year-old landmark.
Each LEGO 10276 Creator Colosseum Building Set comes with an oval base that match the size of the completed model with no biased for which side, thus allowing it to be display however you wish.
The LEGO 10276 Creator Colosseum Building Set is set to launched on November 27, on Black Friday, as part of the LEGO Stores and LEGO.com Black Friday offerings.
LEGO VIP members do not have early access. However, they will receive a limited-edition gift with the purchase, a Roman Chariot, when members purchase the model during Black Friday Cyber Monday weekend.
Now for the asking price… you know what they say, with great details and colossal size, comes a colossal price tag. The LEGO 10276 Creator Colosseum Building Set will set you back at a cool US$549.99. Ouch.
