LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay

This one goes out to all the swashbuckling LEGO enthusiasts out there. The LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay is official! Inspired by the 1989 LEGO Black Seas Barracuda pirate ship model, the #21322 is massive set, packing a whopping 2,545 pieces and boasts some pretty serious details.

Not only is it more complex than the original, but it also aground and hence, the model name LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Dear old Captain Redbeard’s famous (or should I say, infamous) ship is now part of an island… as a wreckage. So, this is where it has been the whole time…

The set was created based on the design submitted by fan designer/bonafide pirate enthusiast (yep) Pablo Sánchez Jiménez, aka Bricky_Brick, on LEGO Ideas. And mind you, my fellow pirates, the LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay is not mere remains of the once glorious seafaring vessel.

The shipwreck can be taken apart and reassembled to create as the modern version of the original Black Seas Barracuda pirate ship. That alone, matey, is worth the money for which LEGO is asking for $199.99 in return.

Pricey, no doubt, but the playability is immense because, it comes with a shark (are you thinking what I am thinking???). Plus, there are 8 minifigures along with a pig, 2 parrots, 3 crabs, 2 frogs and the requisite skeleton… two of them, actually.

The final build is enormous, measuring cover 23 inches tall, 25 inches wide and 12 inches deep (59 x 64 x 32 centimeters).

Recommended for ages 16 and up, the LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay is due to land on April 01 on LEGO.com and LEGO stores.
