Forget about the wooden minifigure. If you want the perfect oversized minifigure, then what better way than to brick-build one yourself? Well, a brick-built one is exactly what the upcoming LEGO Minifigures Up-scaled LEGO Minifigure (40649) set lets you do.
The LEGO Minifigures Up-scaled LEGO Minifigure (40649) – that’s the official product name, btw – is a buildable up-scaled LEGO Minifigure packing 654 pieces. And if you think it looks vaguely familiar… well, that is because this is based on the giant-sized Minifigure statue in front of the LEGO Campus in Billund.
But this scaled-down but still super-sized minifigure is not a fixed-posed figure; it has some form of posability, thanks to the movable head, arms, legs, and hands. It looks like it has elbow bends too. Nice. Plus, it has a secret feature; the hat can be opened to reveal a standard-sized minifigure controlling the upscaled minifigure. LoL. Now, that’s what I call fun!
When completed, the oversized brick-built no so mini minifigure stands over 10.5 inc. (27 cm). If there’s one non-Star Wars LEGO set to get this year, I think this would be it.
