I know the BMW M3 (E30) was a tad square, but it was definitely not as square as the LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 (E30) (77263). The iconic 2-door BMW sports car had some taper and quite a few rounded edges. I don’t think it deserves the scale of a Speed Champions set, which cannot fully recreate its glorious silhouette.

Anyhoo, so yes, for the first time, an E30 has been immortalized by the world-famous plastic bricks. While it does not have the smooth, subtle curves of the real deal, the 77263 does have the spirit of BMW’s legendary sports car.
Released to mark 40 years of a motoring icon, the LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 (E30) uses 358 pieces to let kids 9 and up build the iconic car, complete with a unique livery featuring colors and graphics inspired by BMW’s legendary motorsport division.
The brick-built model has the identifiable square hood, the small front air intake, and, of course, the rear wing. It rolls, and comes with a minifigure—a female driver because, you know, inclusivity—garbed in a matching long-sleeve top with the M Power logo.
I have a feeling this set won’t get as many thumbs-ups, much like the Speed Champions version of the F&F Dodge Charger R/T. Anyhoo, when completed, it is a Speed Champions scale model measuring 17 cm (6.5 in.) long, 7 cm (2.5 in.) wide, and 4 cm (1.5 in.) tall.
The LEGO Speed Champions BMW M3 (E30) (77263) is available for pre-order for US$29.99, with shipping starting August 01, 2026.
