We sure did not see this coming, but I suppose it is good news for fans of LEGO Star Wars—especially for those who missed the LEGO Star Wars Imperial AT-ST (10174) from 2006. Folks, meet the LEGO Star Wars AT-ST Walker (75417), the second LEGO AT-ST “UCS” set. Set for an August 01, 2025 release, this 1,513-piece 18+ set is a recreation of the “chicken walker” as seen in the epic battles of Endor in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983).
Since this is a fresh take by LEGO, here’s hoping they finally fixed the wobbly knees of the original UCS set. The first take was great, but it was literally not a solid build, IMHO. Also, the first didn’t look as proportionally correct as this new take. But I could be wrong. I have the 10174, btw—since 2006.
The new LEGO Star Wars AT-ST Walker (75417) is a build-and-display set that faithfully recreates the All Terrain Scout Transport vehicle using bricks and Technic elements. From the distinctive legs to the top hatch that opens to reveal a highly detailed two-crew cockpit, it has it all. It has some posability, allowing you to customize the display. You can rotate the ‘head’ (a.k.a. the cab), and open and close the shutters over the viewports. The laser cannons are adjustable, too.
In the good old tradition of UCS sets, it comes with an information plaque and a unique LEGO Star Wars minifigure of an AT-ST driver that has the Imperial Crest printed on its arms. The little guy is accessorized with a blaster pistol. When completed, the LEGO Star Wars AT-ST Walker (75417) measures 37 cm tall, 22 cm long, and 22 cm wide (or about 14.5 by 8.5 by 8.5 inches).
