LEGO enthusiasts who are huge fans of the Clone Wars animated series will appreciate this new LEGO Star Wars set, the LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Guard Gunship (75354). The 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship is a 1,083-piece set that lets you build a minifigure-scale Republic Gunship in the Coruscant Guard red paint scheme which is super duper cool, IMHO.
It is a perfect alternative to the larger and more expensive collector’s Republic Gunship from a couple of years ago. Obviously, this being a smaller set, it is missing some details like the lack of bubble turrets on the wings as well as swing-out bubble turrets. On the flip side, it looks kind of cute and clearly, a lot more playable.
It is armed with a pair of stud shooters, a handle for you to simulate flying, and sliding side panel, and an opening rear hatch for access to the cabin where there is a space for troopers. The model further boasts 2 pilot cockpits and 2 adjustable cannons.
The set comes with a whopping 5 minifigures, including a pre-Sith Chancellor Palpatine, Commander Fox with 2 blaster pistols, 2 Coruscant Guards with one blaster each, and Padmé Amidala with a blaster pistol. When completed, the model measures over 5.5 in. (15 cm) high, 14.5 in. (37 cm) long, and 16 in. (41 cm) wide.
The LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Guard Gunship (75354) was officially released on September 01, 2023, for US$139.99. Not cheap. Clearly, not the price tag is not within the purchasing power of most kids age 9 and up which the set is recommended for. It is clearly aimed at kids who grew up watching the Clone Wars animated series and who would probably have the power to spend now.
