Damn. LEGO is having a blast with pushing new sets for adult fans of LEGO! The 1:8 LEGO McLaren P1 isn’t the only Technic automobile that has been announced recently. There is also this: the LEGO Technic G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line (42177)—an equally exciting automobile.
Marking the 45th anniversary of a legendary off-roader, LEGO has partnered with the German automaker to release the LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line (42177) kit for adults. This detailed model of the iconic G-Class features working steering, raised suspension, and a 6-cylinder in-line piston engine.
The gearbox includes drive, neutral, and reverse settings, along with two differential locks. The set also includes a detailed interior, opening doors, tailgate, hood, and accessories like a ladder, spare wheel, and roof rack.
This 2,891-piece set measures over 8.5 in. (22 cm) high, 16.5 in. (43 cm) long, and 8 in. (20 cm) wide when completed. Thanks to the squarish nature of the G 500, the LEGO version of the iconic G-Class is a match made in the LEGO heaven with LEGO/LEGO Technic. Dare I say it is even better looking than the LEGO Techic UNIMOG U 400 which I used to own.
The new LEGO Technic G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line (42177) can be had for US$249.99 when it becomes available on August 01, 2024. Meanwhile, eager fans can secure a copy (up to 3, in fact) by pre-ordering it from LEGO.com.
