If you are a huge fan of construction equipment, chances are you will like Liebherr, the maker of some of the world’s largest construction machinery. And if you do, you will be delighted to know that there is going to be another Liebherr LEGO Technic set.
The new LEGO Technic Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 (42146) will join the now-retired LEGO Technic R 9800 starting on August 01, 2023. While significantly fewer elements at 2,883 pieces, the LEGO Technic Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 (42146) is one of the largest models in the LEGO Technic range to date.
It towers, literally, at over 39 inches (100 cm) and is over 43 inches (110 cm) long and 11 inches (28 cm) wide. It is safe to say no ordinary shelf will be able to contain this little big machine.
The LEGO version of one of the world’s most powerful cranes features realistic movement, including tank steering, rotating turntable, luffing jib, winch, and load sensing.
Like the real-life counterpart, the model features a counterweight appropriate for the scale which in this instance are 24 weight elements providing over 2 pounds (0.9 kg) counterweight.
The model kit comes with 2 smart hubs plus 6 large motors to power the articulated functions which, together with the CONTROL+ app, allows you to control the model crane. The app also lets you see the vehicle stats and attempt challenges. 12 LR AA cells (not included) are required for the power function.
The LEGO Technic Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 (42146) is without doubt one of the most impressive LEGO Technic construction sets yet but it also comes with a hefty price. Be prepared to part with US$699.99 of your hard-earned money if you want one. The books are opened for the model building kit with shipping starting on August 01, 2023.
