Leica is back in the projector game with its new Cine Play 1, a follow-up to last year’s beefy Cine 1. This time, though, they’re thinking mini but mighty—and also a little easier on your wallet. It may be Leica’s “affordable” (note: not budget) projector, but it does not skim on features like state-of-the-art laser tech.
Designed to provide a full cinematic experience without a wall full of wires, the Cine Play 1 offers up to 300 inches of 4K projection with Leica’s top-notch Summicron lens tech in a compact, Bauhaus-inspired box that fits neatly into any room—or backyard, for that matter.
Unlike its larger sibling, the Cine Play 1 is all about portability without skimping on features. It packs a punch with 3,000 ANSI lumens, triple RGB laser tech, and 4K resolution. Even in bright daylight, you’re promised clear, sharp visuals with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG.
For gamers, it offers a latency of under 12ms at 1080p with 120Hz refresh, which means smooth gameplay on your movie nights. And sound? The built-in 2 x 10W speakers with DTS Virtual:X might just rival your home theater setup, delivering booming bass without the external speakers.
With the VIDAA U7.6 operating system, you get all the streaming essentials at your fingertips, from Netflix to YouTube. Plus, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 allow seamless connectivity for all your devices, and it’s got the ports to match—HDMI 2.1 (with eARC), USB 3.0, Ethernet, and even optical audio output. Want it on a stand? The optional floor stand hides the power cable for a clean setup and secures it with a clever pin contact system.
Starting at US$3,795 with an extra US$495 for the stand, the Cine Play 1 is priced for those who want serious movie nights without the serious size.
