Black with a hint of red is kind of a Leica thing, but occasionally, dashes of colors never hurt. That has proven by Leica X2 Edition Paul Smith 7 years ago. Fast forward to 2019, there is another.

Yes. It is another delightful Leica and Paul Smith collaboration and this one is called Leica CL Paul Smith Edition. The camera is based on Leica’s CL digital camera, but instead of the usual black, it now sports a fun, colorful makeover.

The palette on the Leica CL Paul Smith Edition was inspired by the colors on the British fashion designer’s custom Land Rover Defender from 2016.

In addition to colors, Leica CL Paul Smith Edition also sports a sketch of an eye above the viewfinder and the words ‘look and see’ in Paul’s distinctive handwriting can be found above the monitor.

As with most such collaborations, the designer’s touches are limited to cosmetic treatment. This means it is still the CL you already knew.
