Before anyone flame me for saying that self-cleaning drinkware like a bottle is not possible, hear me out first. Yes. Self-cleaning sounded like a bunch of nanobots getting to work to clean the bottle. However, it is obviously not the case with LIZ Smart Self-cleaning Bottle by tech company NOERDEN. NOERDEN’s context of self-cleaning is zapping those nasty bacteria that may be present in a bottle after prolong use.
That is to say, it does not mean you don’t need to clean like forever. I am sure you do if you have beverage like coffee in it. Back to the bacteria-zapping capability… LIZ features a touch responsive smart lid with a built-in UV-C light which NOERDEN claims could destroy up to 99.9 percent of harmful viruses and odor-causing bacteria. All you have to do is to tap the lid twice and the sterilization process will begin.
The sterilization process works when the bottle is empty or through water if it is present. When the LED indicator flashes red, it signals the process is complete. Sterilization is not all LIZ Smart Self-cleaning Bottle does. LIZ is able to keep your beverage of choice hot up to 12 hours or cold up to 24 hours. Speaking of temperature, LIZ’s lid can also let you in on the temperature of the beverage inside.
Simply tap the smart lid once and LIZ will give you a rough gauge of the drink’s temperature by flashing different color LED. Plus, LIZ will nag you to take a sip every 2 hours to keep you hydrated – if you can’t be grown up enough to know when to take sip. LIZ is powered by a rechargeable battery good for up to 6 months of use per charge. It is RoHS and CE certified, boasts anti-slip grip and carabiner and it is dishwasher safe.
LIZ Smart Self-cleaning Bottle comes in two sizes: 16 oz and 12 oz, and a choice of colors, and it is available via Indiegogo for $53-58. The company behind NOERDEN is, btw, no greenhorn. They have been in the market for a while now, making hybrid smartwatches and smart scales. And so, yeah, it is a real company with actual portfolio.
