It has been a while since we last talked about products from LOEWE with a dot (LOEWE., a.k.a. Loewe Technology—not to be confused with the 180-year-old Spanish luxury fashion house).
The German purveyor of luxury gadgets, best known for its TVs, actually has something that may appeal to concrete lovers and those who are in pursuit of the Brutalist look for their homes. It’s called the LOEWE. Stellar Smart Display Concrete.
That’s right. It’s literally a concrete TV, though not all of it, obviously.
First launched in 2024 and designed by the in-house Loewe Design and Innovation Studio, the LOEWE. Stellar Smart Display Concrete features a diamond-cut brushed aluminum frame, a refined speaker grille in acoustic fabric or painted metal, and a rear cabinet made of, wait for it… real concrete.
I know, it’s the back only—a part you hardly ever look at, let alone your guests. So your appreciation of the fact that it is partly made of concrete remains yours alone, or that of anyone else who happens to peek at the back.
But you can always give your guests a TV tour, where you can introduce them to how the Stellar isn’t just a TV. It reimagines the OLED flat screen as a sculptural design object, crafted from real concrete and brushed aluminum.
In addition to it being designed in Germany, it is also 100% made in Germany. Something worth noting for those who wonder where your dollars go. But more on the financial investment part in a bit.
The TV, which is available in 42, 48, 55, and 65 inches, combines tailor-made OLED panels, an innovative ambient lighting concept, and Loewe os9 for premium smart streaming, gaming, and home cinema performance.
It boasts ultra-fast refresh rates of up to 144 Hz, impressive contrast, and vivid colors thanks to OLED technology, 4K (3,840 × 2,160 pixels) resolution, and, of course, VIDAA-based Loewe os9 that lets you access a world of entertainment, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, Apple TV+, and many more.
A little more about Loewe’s blend of OLED. It isn’t just any OLED. Its Ultra HD OLED technology features advanced W-OLED MLA (Micro Lens Array) and META technology to deliver exceptional brightness, contrast, and picture depth.
It is pre-calibrated at the Loewe factory and supports the latest HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ Precision Detail. It is powered by a premium MTK 4K chipset for powerful connectivity for gaming and home cinema.
Speaking of gaming, it features full HDMI 2.1 support with eARC, ALLM, and VRR, enabling Ultra HD gaming at up to 144 Hz.
The TV also benefits from a host of connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LAN, Toslink, four USB ports (including two USB-C), and antenna, cable, and satellite inputs. Plus, DLNA, Miracast, Apple AirPlay, and Matter enable seamless sharing and control throughout the home.
Finally, there’s the sound, where an integrated front-firing soundbar delivers powerful, precise stereo sound ranging from 80 to 300 watts.
Concealed behind a high-gloss metal cover are Loewe’s proprietary speakers in closed two-way enclosures, along with advanced decoders, DSPs, and Class-D amplifiers.
There’s Dolby Atmos, too (of course, there is), as well as Virtual 3D sound. And that’s not all. It offers six sound modes, and a menu-based seven-band equalizer allows fine-tuning to suit the content, preferences, or system setup.
The LOEWE. Stellar Smart Display is also available with a black lava stone back panel or a refined aluminum back panel if concrete isn’t your cuppa.
If you are looking for a 77-inch screen or larger, specifically 83- or 97-inch screen sizes, aluminum is your only option. Both black lava stone and concrete top out at 65 inches, possibly due to weight considerations.
As for the price, I do not want to speculate or get information from other parties online. If you really must know, you have to check in with LOEWE. in your locality or visit its regional website for pricing and availability.
