Half-frame Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera
Lomography has expanded its Simple Use camera family with two half-frame reloadable models that squeeze up to 72 shots from a single roll of 35 mm film, bringing back the joy—and suspense—of analog photography.

Lomography, the undisputed maestro of lo-fi photography, wants to up the game of film photography. It wants to double the anticipation of discovering what you actually captured with its new Half-frame Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera. Joining the beloved Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera family are the LomoChrome Classicolor and Black & White editions.

Half-frame Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera

For the uninitiated, a half-frame reloadable film camera is a reusable 35 mm film camera that captures two photos in the space normally used for one. Instead of the standard 36 × 24 mm frame, it shoots an 18 × 24 mm image, effectively doubling the number of shots you get from a roll of film. A 36-exposure roll suddenly becomes roughly 72 opportunities to question your photography skills.

Both cameras arrive preloaded and ready to shoot right out of the box. The colorful version comes loaded with LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 film and includes three colored flash gels for even more visual chaos. Prefer life in shades of grey? The Black & White edition is preloaded with Lady Grey ISO 400 film instead.

Once you’ve finished the first roll, simply reload it with any 35 mm film and keep going. The camera itself is pocket-sized, made from 100% recycled materials, and sports a 21 mm f/9 lens, a built-in flash, and the kind of point-and-shoot simplicity that lets you focus on making memories instead of fiddling with settings. There are no ISO adjustments, no multiple exposures, no tripod mount, and no cable release. Just load film, press the shutter, and let fate do the rest.

The beauty of film photography is that you never really know what you’ve got until the film comes back from the lab. The best is that nobody can spoil it for you. Digital cameras give you instant gratification. Film gives you suspense. Lomography has now doubled that suspense by letting you squeeze up to 72 half-frame photos out of a single roll. That’s either twice the memories or twice the disappointment. Either way, it’ll be one heck of a surprise.
